Guanacaste north Pacific coast of Costa Rica

Guanacaste, the “gem of Costa Rica”, is well known for its stunning beaches, national parks, and abundant wildlife. The province is the sunniest and driest in Costa Rica, with a considerably shorter rainy season than the rest of Costa Rica. Dry season is from November to May with average temperatures 33ºC (91ºF). Rainy or “green” season runs from May to November. Green season showers are usually late afternoon or at night, still leaving plenty of time for outdoor activities, excursions and sunbathing with an average temperature of 31ºC (88ºF). During this period "El Veranillo" or "little summer" occurs mid July and the region experiences a few weeks of dry conditions.

Playas Brasilito and Conchal

Brasilito is situated approximately 15 kms from the town of Tamarindo, 5 kms from the great surf breaks of Playa Grande, and 5 kms from Playa Flamingo with its fantastic sailing cruises, scuba diving and sport fishing trips. Liberia International airport, with direct flights to many cities in the US and Canada is approximately 45 minutes drive. Tamarindo airport has routes servicing major destinations in Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Panama. There are bus links, via Liberia and Santa Cruz, to and from all major destinations in Costa Rica as well as Granada in Nicaragua.

The hotel is situated approximately 200 meters (around 3 minutes walk) from the town centre of Brasilito and its beautiful beach. A short walk to the north and you will find quiet sunbathing and swimming spots with dramatic views of the small offshore island, Isla Loros. To the south, and over a small headland you come to the spectacular Conchal Beach, with fine crushed white shells underfoot. This is widely regarded as one of the finest beaches in the country, and being sheltered it is perfect for swimming and snorkeling.

Brasilito has an excellent selection of restaurants, ranging from typical local “sodas” serving cheap and delicious casados, to genuine Italian cooked pizza and pasta and amazing fresh seafood. Some restaurants have superb locations directly on the beach, great places to watch the sunset with a cocktail or cold beer!

Overall, prices are a little cheaper in Playa Brasilito than in the larger and more touristic towns nearby.

The hotel is also located close by to well-stocked grocery stores, pharmacies and medical services.

"Playa Conchal.....widely regarded as the most beautiful beach in all of Costa Rica" Lonely Planet 2010

“Rooms at this recommended hotel are simply stunning-white washed walls are offset by exposed wooden beams, ceramic tiling and elegant bathrooms…”   Lonely Planet Costa Rica

"My favourite place here is Hotel Conchal. This charming Polynesian style hotel has 9 pretty, white-washed, tile-floored, air-conditioned rooms with wrought iron beds, ceiling fans, tvs.......they face into a landscaped garden. The Robinson-Crusoe style upstairs lounge is a delightful space......."  Moon Guide to Costa Rica
