Getting to Brasilito
Overall we recommend flying directly into Liberia LIR at 1 hour drive. While there are public buses, these are infrequest, often run late and are very slow and often crowded. We highly recommend a shuttle service, we can offer shared or private shuttles from USD29 per person. There is a minimum cost of 2 passengers to book the service, but even for single travellers this is still much cheaper than taking a taxi (around USD80) and stops the chance of getting lost!
However, if you are arriving in San Jose SJO there are a number of options, depending on your budget, and arrival time.
By far the quickest and easiest route is with a domestic flight with Sansa into Tamarindo (10 minutes drive from us). We can arrange a taxi to meet you there. www.flysansa.com
There are 2 shared shuttle departures with Interbus or Grayline. Daily departures from close by to the SJO airport, around 8am and 2pm. Journey time is around 5 hours, cost around $55 per person.
Otherwise there is also a public bus, with Tralapa but this means you have to travel all the way to the center of San Jose to get to the bus stop. Fare is around $12 but its a very long journey usually a minimum 5 to 6 hours with lots of stops. You will take the Flamingo route, departures at 8:00 am, 10:30 am. and 3:00 pm. Departs from the intersection of Calle 20 and Avenidas 1/3. 2221-7202 ext 203.
The last option is a private shuttle to meet you at the airport when your flight arrives, rate is around $260.
Please let me know if we can be of any assistance in helping you reserve any of these options.
